Born in Europe of Russian & German background, Michael Swanson has lived in North America since the 1950's. During this time his career as an
illustrator has taken him throughout continental America and much of Europe.
As a past member of the Society of Illustrators in Los Angeles, Michael has
won his share of awards such as the Winsor & Newton's call for entries. While having a one man show on the French Riviera, Michael fell in love with the Mediterranean area and enjoys regularly painting this historic region with its
unique sunlite ambiance. In the past two years he has painted much of Italy from Positano to Venice and is currently working on a number of pieces depicting Tuscany.
