Artist Igor Smirnov, son of famous landscape artist Vasiley Smirnov, began his art career in the College of Fine Art. He spent two years restoring priceless icons and paintings for the Russian Museum and Museum of Urban Sculptures in St Petersburg. In 1988 with the help of U.S. Secretary of State John Whitehead and Soviet Foreign Minister Mr Shevardnadze, Igor received permission to immigrate to the United States. His paintings hang in Russian museums in Moscow, Leningrad, Munich Germany, as well as the United States.
