Ray Friesz,5> an American Legend in the world of fine art....he was the first plein-air abstractionist - a pioneer for more than 45 years in acrylic, with a "slam-bang" gravity style. Pouring waterfalls, splashing waves on location, never including a man-made object in his paintings - in keeping with nature. The paintings of Ray Friesz hang in prominate private collectors homes and large corporations. "Ray Friesz is a domesticated Jackson Pollock", wrote William Wilson of the L.A. Times.
Friesz received numerous awards and enjoyed international recognition of his work.
Despite changing trends in art over the years, Friesz always stayed true to his personal creative syle. Ray has the distinction of exhibiting in the Laguna Festival of Arts for 43 years.
